PM’s aide welcomed with demand for construction of roads

CHITRAL: Zulfi Bukhari, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s special assistant on overseas Pakistanis, arrived in Chitral on a special plane on Wednesday morning.

Among others, civil siciety representatives welcomed Mr Bukhari outside the airport with a banner demanding construction of roads in Chitral this morning.

PM's aide welcomed with demand for construction of roadsThe civil society activists under the banner of the newly-formed Chitral Development Movement have launched a drive to pressure the government to repair and reconstruct Chitral’s roads that have been in poor shape due to lack of maintenance for years.

Mr Bukhari was apprised of the issues due to the poor roads that have also claimed scores of lives in accidents.

On the way from the airport, civil society activists were also seen standing along the road holding placards demanding construction of roads.

The PM’s aide disembarked from his vehicle, listened to their demands and assured them of taking them up with the prime minister and get them resolved. He promised them that he would get the roads of Chitral reconstructed under his own supervision.
