SRSP arranges COVID-19 safety kits for health workers

CHITRAL: The Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) in collaboration with the Patrip Foundation arranged COVID-19 safety kits worth Rs3.4 million for the frontline health workers of Chitral.

SRSP arranges COVID-19 safety kits for health workers in ChitralIn this regard, a function was held at the lawns of the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where SRSP Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shahzada Masoodul Mulk handed over the protection equipment to the heads of the departments engaged in the fight against the virus.

The safety kits included coverall suits, face shields, N-95 masks, surgical, masks and gloves, surgical head covers and shoes.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahzada Masood said the SRSP was utilizing its resources to help healthcare departments and communities cope with the coronavirus pandemic.

He said safety kits worth Rs12.9 million had already been handed over to the health department by the SRSP and today more kits have been arranged for Chitral.

He said his organization was making efforts to continue the support to the health departments and the frontline workers in order to protect the citizens from the disease.

Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Naveed Ahmad appreciated the contribution of the SRSP and said it has always been helping the government in tackling different public issues.

DHQ hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Shamim Ahmad said despite lack of resources and PPE health workers in Chitral were working day and night to fight the pandemic.

He also shed light on issues faced by the hospital and the health workers since the outbreak of the disease in March this year.

SRSP-Patrip Manager Engineer Khadim Ullah, SRSP district programme manager Tariq Ahmed, ADC Hayat Shah and others were also present.–Syed Nazir Hussain Shah
